Shaftesbury & Gillingham Tourism Services run Shaftesbury & Gillingham Tourist Information Centre which is situated just off The Commons in Bell Street next to the Somerfield (Co-Op) supermarket.

It is run by a local group of trustees with a team of volunteers who are happy to help with any queries or enquiries you may have. We provide a support service to all our customers, whether they are local businesses, attraction owners, visitors to the area or accommodation providers — if you need accommodation or have empty beds, we aim to match one with the other!

We sell tickets for most local events from local shows, film nights and concerts to festivals and regional shows, including “Shaftesbury Arts Centre”, “Salisbury Playhouse”, “Gillingham Festival”, “Shaftesbury & Gillingham Show”, “The Great Dorset Steam Fair”, “Yeovilton Air Day”, “Fairford International Air Tattoo” and “The Bath & West Show”.

We also sell Theatre Tokens which are valid at hundreds of theatres throughout Britain.

You can also book your National Express travel through us, or journeys with local tour operators such as Grosvenor Coaches, Berry’s and Clapton Holidays.

Now we are also a recognised PayPoint outlet, so you can call in to pay your TV licence, top-up your mobile phone, settle most utilities bills — and even congestion charges!

Not only do we hold a wide range of local information but we are also able to provide brochures for other areas of the UK. If we haven't got what you want, we can put you in touch with someone who does. We also stock an extensive range of books, gifts, maps and souvenirs, a sample of which you can buy online (check out our shop).

We aim to offer a friendly, helpful service to locals and visitors alike — if you’ve got a question we will do our best to answer it!
